Porsche is about to become the majority shareholder in Volkswagen. The sportscar maker has been given the green light to purchase further stock in VW, taking its share past the 50 percent mark to give it a controlling interest. As soon as various legal checks have been cleared, Porsche plans to purchase a further 20 percent of VW stock – it already owns 31 percent - at an estimated cost of around £7 billion.
It's hardly kept it a secret, but now Renault has officially announced that it will be putting its electric car range into production come 2011. You can read the full story on Renault's electric vehicle range in CAR’s December 2009 issue out on 18 November, in which Chris Chilton drives the mad concept cars. Yes.
First pictures of the electric Audi R8 - the Audi R8 e-Tron
The pictures here have leaked out of Audi, and clearly show that the e-Tron is very much Audi R8, albeit with some changes. The grill is changed, as are the wheels and rear end. The interior has very little resemblance to the R8, partly because this is an electric car and a concept.
